Our stay had a mix of highlights and low points. While the food quality was excellent and the staff proved friendly and helpful, we were disappointed by the outdated decor and some service hiccups, especially during breakfast. The hotel is set in lovely grounds, adding to its charm, but the room and common areas desperately need an upgrade.

Rooms
5.0
Our room was spacious but felt dated with features reminiscent of earlier decades. The ceiling had a noticeable hole in the corridor outside, which detracted from the overall appeal.
Service

Service during check-in was efficient, but the dining experience left much to be desired due to inexperienced staff and lapses in service, particularly during breakfast.

The hotel has charming potential with historical decor, but the facilities could use modernization to match guest expectations.

I recently stayed at Newton Park, and while the hotel itself is a stunning old building set in lovely gardens, the experience was a mixed bag. The staff were friendly and check-in was smooth, but I found the room to be outdated and cramped. The potential is there, but it feels like the hotel hasn't kept up with modern expectations, especially in the room decor and bathroom facilities. Overall, it’s a place of charm but could use significant improvements to bring it into the current century.

The hotel has a charming atmosphere with historical touches, but it appears to be in need of a facelift. While the staff tried their best, some aspects of the dining experience were less than satisfactory, particularly during busy times. The comfortable beds were a plus, but the overall experience at meals fell short due to inefficiencies. Overall, it has potential but would benefit from renovations and staff training.

Rooms

Our room was warm and adequately clean, but it really showed its age with ripped wallpaper and an outdated design.

The dining experience left much to be desired; both the dinner and breakfast lacked in quality and freshness, especially when the service was busy.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel with its lovely, historical character. The staff was incredibly helpful and the food served during our dinner and breakfast was delicious and well-prepared. However, I did notice a few areas that could use some attention, such as room maintenance and cleanliness in certain spots. Overall, it was quite an enjoyable experience with some memorable moments.

The hotel has a charming character with beautiful grounds and a friendly atmosphere. The event experience, especially the Murder Mystery night, was well done and enjoyable. However, the rooms are in desperate need of updates and can feel a bit shabby. While the staff are accommodating, the overall cleanliness and room facilities need improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms vary significantly in quality, with some being quite outdated. In one, I struggled to find basic amenities like bedside tables, and the overall decor felt very tired.
Service
7.0
The staff tried hard to assist us during our stay, and check-in was relatively smooth. However, a lack of attention to some details was noticeable.
Location
8.0
Nestled in large grounds, the location is quite lovely and offers a nice escape. However, it's a bit far from the nearest town center.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was good, especially the breakfast, but it was a bit pricy given the overall standard of the hotel. Dinner and events were well organized.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like the terrace and gardens have potential but are in need of some maintenance and updates. The overall aesthetics of the hotel could be improved.
